This is my completed front cover & contents page for my college magazine.
From the drafted sketch plan I created; it helped me be able to follow it like a guide to enable me to create the magazine.
The target audience for this magazine is UK college students (16-19) mainly students at LSC because it fits in the the expectations of the preliminary task.
I decided to charge £2.99 for the magazine because it is suitable for the target audience I have chosen to associate my magazine with, therefore the 16-19 year olds will have the possibility to purchase the magazine without any difficulty.
The completed copy is very similar to the draft I made and overall I am pleased with the outcome of the front and contents page.
Please could you answer the questions by leaving the comment below :)
1. What do you think about the fonts used?
2. What do you think of the colour scheme
3. What do you think about the arrangement on the pages?
4. Do you think this is suitable for the target audience chosen (16-19 year olds)
5. What is your opinion of the teasers and subheadings used on the front and contents page?

I LIKE THE PICTURE AS IT IS NOT PIXELATED AND IT IS VERY CLEAR
ReplyDeleteTHERE WASN’T A CONSISTENT COLOUR SCHEME WHICH THEN DIDN’T GIVE IT A PROFESSIONAL LOOK. ALSO THE FONT SIZES HAD A LACK OF CONSISTENCY WHICH ALSO DIDN’T GIVE IT A PROFESSIONAL LOOK.
YES IT IS SUITABLE BECAUSE IT IS A COLLEGE MAGAZINE
YOU COULD IMPROVE BY: THINKING OF A CONSISTENT COLOUR SCHEME AND PUT MORE THINGS ON THE FRONT PAGE BECAUSE IT LOOKED EMPTY
The fonts used are appropriate and it is clear as I can see what is written clearly and the colour scheme is also suitable for the college magazine, the colours used are bright as this will attract the audiences attention towards the front page of the college magazine. The arrangement is suitable as it looks like a college magazine. The college magazine is suitable for the target audience as it's intended purpose of this magazine is for college students from the age of 16-19. The masthead is clear that the magazine is for college students studying at Leyton Sixth form College, and the images used are also relevant to the magazine, however, to improve you could use more images in the contents page.
ReplyDelete1. The font choice is really clear and you have made sure that your readers/audience are able to read your coverlines. For your contents page, it is very clear which part is the heading due to the size of the font.
ReplyDelete2. You have used the minimum expected colours needed (3) so this is a positive. They are eye catching colours, especially given that most of these colours have positive connotations. I believe for your front page, you should choose a few main colours instead of each coverline having each colour scheme.
3. The arrangement of the contents page is clear, as we know which part is regulars, enrichment and student life.
4. Your magazine is very suitable to your target audience as it all links to what college student need advice and information for.
5. You have used buzz words such as “win”and “exclusive”. You have used exclamation marks to suggest urgency in things your audience should read.
